Nice start for today as another leak makes an appearance and this time, it is concerning Acer’s beTouch E130. The new Acer’s smartphone certainly has a nice look which can almost be seen as Blackberry’s usual look. But it doesn’t come with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard like most phones seem to be sporting these days.

It comes with a full QWERTY portrait keyboard. It has a 2.6-inch touchscreen display. It works on Android 1.6 and runs on a 416MHz processor. It comes with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM.

The phone comes with a 3.2-megapixel camera. It also has an FM receiver, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Slated to be a low-to-mid-range smartphone, the Acer beTouch E130 does not come with the most complicated and expensive features. It does come with Acer’s custom user interface, and the Acer Spinlets music application. As of now, we know that Acer plans to release the beTouch E130 at the beginning of August this year.

Good news for those who loved the Liquid E smartphone from Acer, the brand has announced a follow-up to the model which will be called Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition.

The new design is for those who live life on the fast lane and maybe for those who own a Ferrari. On a serious note, when Acer first released the Liquid E smartphone, while we loved the design, many opposed to it. They said it’s too business and professional-like. So to mix up and jam it a little, Acer will now released the redesigned version into a Ferrari body but it will still be a smartphone though.

The new Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition will be released with a 3.5-inch high-definition (WVGA) capacitive screen. It comes with a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and geo-tagging functions. It is powered by Qualcomm snapdragon 8250 processor and runs on Android 2.1 Eclair Operating System. As of now, Acer has yet to release the price and release date of the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition smartphone.

Today we decide to take a look at Acer’s new phone, the neoTouch P300 which was recently unveiled at the MWC event. The neoTouch P300 phone feels moderate with the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS. We are hoping that later on this year, there would be a nice upgrade on the phone to Windows Phone 7.

The device works on the Qualcomm 528MHz CPU. It comes with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM. It has a 3.2-inch WQVGA which is of course, a low resolution display. The neoTouch P300 works great on many applications and process fast too. There are quite a number of third-party applications that currently run on the Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS but not on the Windows Phone 7. We wished though that the costs of getting this phone would be lesser.

The Acer neoTouch P300 will be available at the price of around $400. The smartphone is available for preorder from Clove as of now and shipment will be sent off later on this month.

Reviews

“Overall we were impressed with our early play with the Acer Liquid – it bodes well for Android that this level of hardware integration has appeared already this early in the OS’ life. We just need to see how much it will cost and how well the developer community will react to all these new options to play with. (Techradar, 2009)

“We’re still not entirely convinced by the Acer’s physical design, and we wish they’d done more to the smartphone’s UI too. Arne gives them credit for bundling the excellent RoadSync Exchange client – which goes some way to making up for their choice of Android 1.6 rather than 2.0, which has native Exchange support – along with some of their own apps for streaming media, improved local media control and social networking. In the end, the Liquid A1 scores highly for its performance and its stability, though it lacks some features many consumers might reckon are becoming essential: an LED flash, for instance, and an integrated Twitter client. It’s expected to hit shelves across Europe within the next few weeks.” (Slashgear, 2009)
