For those who have been waiting patiently for the Motorola Droid X Android 2.2 update, please wait some more, but don’t resort to downloading the leaked Froyo update. Reports suggest that the leaked Motorola Droid X Android 2.2 update is not good for your Droid X. Not only is it not good, but it also invalidates your warranty as this type of upgrading is strictly prohibited.

The leaked Froyo update has apparently been going around, and naturally a lot of Droid X owners jumped at this early opportunity to test the operating system. By downloading the leaked Froyo update will not only get you in trouble with the phone’s warranty, it will also disable you from downloading the official version when it will be released. That’s too bad!

The Froyo update is one of the most awaited updates around. Not only will it make Droid X users be able to use Microsoft Exchange, other services such as a worldwide business directory, Gmail services, and enhanced security will also be accessible. With that in mind, it’s worth waiting for the official Motorola Droid X Android 2.2 update.

Good news for Motorola fans especially those located in China, Motorola has finally announced that it will soon be releasing three new Android smartphones in China soon. The smartphones are notably from the MING series. They are touchscreen smartphones, like most smartphones today. As they will be released in the Chinese market first, these new MING smartphones are able to recognize Chinese characters.

The new Motorola smartphones are the MT810 and A1680, which are already available in some parts of China. These are selling at 5,980 renminbi (US$877) and 3,080 renminbi each. The Motorola MT810 comes with a 3.2-inch screen and is able to showcase mobile TV broadcasts in China’s CMMB format. It will be serviced by China Mobile. This smartphone runs on China Mobile’s OPhone 2.0 operating system (based on Android 2.1 version).

The Motorola A1680 was built for China Unicom. It works on Android version 1.6 and comes with a 3.1-inch display. The last MING model, the XT806, will be released in September by China Telecome. It works on Android version 2.1.

We all love a good leak here and this time, the leak consists of a new shot of what appears to be an upcoming Motorola slider phone. Online experts were quick to point out that the leaked phone bears a similar resemblance to Motorola’s Droid phone. But, leaked shots experts were even quicker to point out that the phone doesn’t have the Droid look, it does have something similar about it.

Like usual every leak comes with the least information of all. From the picture, it can be said that the phone looks nice in its sliding form. Some might say it looks even better than Blackberry’s Torch. It does come with a nice keyboard. As a matter of fact, this phone was first sighted back in July with no information given. Motorola has so far not commented on the device so we’ll have to go based on assumptions only. Hopefully soon, Motorola will breathe out some words about this device.

Questions, questions! That is the problem with leaks: it’s never specific! We do love a good leak though, like usual. Today word has it that the leaked Droid 2 World Edition might actually be the leaked Droid Pro. In other words, these might be the same phones we’re talking about. It’s funny that this question is being brought up now when Verizon itself gave a preview of these devices separately at its inventory system. But then, these phones were shown under the model codes A956 and A957.

A leakshot of Motorola’s upcoming models has been spotted online, which is set to mess our minds up. Apparently, in the leakshot the Droid 2 World Edition is referred as the A957, and it has September 30th listed as its launch date. Until Verizon or Motorola comment on this, it’s hard to analyze on this question. Experts online are going with the idea that the Droid Pro is the dual-mode version of the Droid 2. We’ll see how true that is in September. Meanwhile, stay tuned.

Great news for Motorola fans, we love a good leak here and today specs and pictures of the Motorola Quench XT5 have been leaked. Before we start jumping into the details, this is not the same mobile as the Motorola Cliq XT, Motorola Quench MB501, or the Motorola Quench XT3. This is a new one, of course unannounced that might be released soon. If we are lucky maybe before the end of this year, all depending on Motorola.

The Motorola Quench XT5 now has several details concerning its specs leaked. Let’s get right into it. The phone works on Android 2.1. It supports the network coverage of WCDMA 900/1900/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps (Category 7/8), EDGE Class 12. It comes with a nice 3.2-inch 480×320 HVGA 262k display screen. It features FM radio, and supports DivX video playback. Tehre’s a 1270 mAh battery on the phone that is supposed to last for some time. It measures 56 x 114 x 13 mm and weighs 114g. Like usual, this leak too doesn’t come with the release date or price. Stay tuned for the updates.

Motorola earlier got fans excited that they would be able to experience the Android 2.1 journey on their Motorola phones, but unfortunately looks like this won’t happen any time soon.

In a disappointing announcement, Motorola claims that the Android 2.1 updates, which was much anticipated for a while now, will not be available for the noted Motorola phones as of yet. These phones include the Motorola CLIQ, CLIQ XT, and BackFlip, which are all running currently on Android 1.5.

Motorola explained at its support forums that the Android 2.1 update isn’t available yet for these phones. Since the announcement some time back, owners of these particular phones were eagerly awaiting the updates of their system. Nevertheless, the wait will not be that long as Motorola states the Android 2.1 update is expected in the late Q3, or early Q4 of this year. Hope this time Motorola fans won’t be disappointed.

Good news for those who have been eagerly awaiting the Droid 2 from Motorola, Best Buy has just revealed that it has the phone on sale at the price of $199 with a two-year contract. Since the Droid X was such a success, Motorola is keeping the release date of this one under wraps but reports claim that it will be released on August 12.

Best Buy has been toying with the idea of selling this phone for what seems like ages now. Customers have been eagerly waiting to get their hands on the Droid 2 but they are still waiting in vain. Not anymore a Best Buy has announced that it will be selling the Droid 2 at the price of $199 on a two-year contract.

Things seem to be going fine for Motorola as the brand has been named the best selling Android phone, thanks to their Droid smartphone. Meanwhile, things are not that bright for RIM which has been named or nicknamed as the biggest loser.

Earlier on it was reported that Android phones have been selling really well since the beginning of this year and now it turns out that Motorola Droid has been named the best Android phone around. As a matter of fact, the Motorola Droid is still selling very well and consumers are loving the phone. Many might say that the phone is considered outdated already but fact is, the Droid garnered the most sales for Q2 this year.

By now we know that Google’s Android OS is responsible for at least 34 percent of the market and the rest are controlled by RIM (32percent) and Apple (21.7 percent). Also on the top Android phones’ list are HTC Droid Incredible, HTC EVO 4G, HTC Hero, and HTC Droid Eris.

Motorola has finally made the Charm smartphone official. The brand announced that the Motorola Charm will be released by T-Mobile this very summer. The brand also went on to release the phone’s details and features as wanted by many. Actually, these past few weeks, a lot has been writing and said about the Motorola Charm and now finally the truth has been made official.

The new Motorola Charm works on Android 2.1. It comes with a full QWERTY keyboard. It also has a 2.8-inch touchscreen display. There’s also a navigation pad found on the rear of the phone. The phone also happens to be the first Motorola phone to implement the Motoblur software in it and the fact that it works on Android 2.2, well more or less; it is the first Android 2.1 phone that has the Motoblur feature. To have the latter allows the phone to synch and get direct access to e-mail clients and social networking favorites like Facebook and Twitter. The phone also comes with a 3-megapixel camera.
