Nokia has been working on its own platform for some time now, and apparently it’s done now which might prompt Nokia to announce it officially in the coming weeks. Nokia’s Meego platform will be seen on Nokia’s N9 phone, according to the leaked photos.

The Nokia N9 will be the first phone to run on the Meego operating system. While this has been confirmed by Nokia, the brand refused to give out other details regarding Meego and the N9. We’ll just have to go by the leaked photos to find out more.

With the Meego operating system, Nokia is set to heavily compete with other mobile platforms such as Android and iPhone. While most phone manufacturers opt for third-party software for their devices, Nokia has always been one to create its own operating system; its Symbian platform needs no introduction. Many have complained that Nokia refused to give in when it comes to changing from Symbian to Android, as times have changed and Nokia is the largest mobile phone manufacturer with no Android phone. Let’s hope with the Meego operating system, Nokia has changed the way everyone wanted it to.

Good news for Nokia fans, the number one mobile maker has announced that it will be launching the N8 phone soon. Nokia also claimed that it doesn’t have any need for Android as of now. The Nokia N8 is a new Symbian smartphone from the brand and is expected to be out by October.

Nokia was quoted saying that it has no interest to jump in the Android wagon and they are not interested also in creating its own tablet. So overall, the brand still wants to make phones and only phones. Nokia’s vice president said that the N8 is a high mid-range priced phone.

The brand also doesn’t have any immediate plans on releasing another tablet soon. The mobile phone manufacturer is more interested in pursuing the fourth-generation cellular networks based on LTE technology. Nokia didn’t comment on who would release the phone but is expected to announce the respective carriers soon.

We know fans in India are waiting anxiously for the Nokia C6 to land there and looks like the wait might be over soon. Report has it that Nokia is all set to release their C6 there in September. Since the phone was announced and released earlier this year, we had many consumers asking when it will release in their respective places and consumers from India were one of them.

Let’s talk more on the phone, the Nokia C6 sure looks like a sweet deal. It’s set to appeal to teenagers more thanks to its social networking features on the phone. It comes with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It features 5-megapixel camera. The phone comes preloaded with Ovi Maps and the Ovi Store applications.

Nokia made the special announcement on Twitter, a place everyone goes to make official announcements, and the brand stated that the C6 will hopefully be out in the first week of September.

Good news for folks over in the UK! Nokia will soon be releasing their C3 phone there. The C3 from Nokia is sort of a social networking phone. It will definitely be a hit amongst teenagers but it’s hard to say as of now a lot of adults are getting the groove of social networking as well.

This is not the first phone from the C series. As a matter of fact, Nokia has released before the C1 which was the first phone from the brand to feature the support for two SIM cards. Users would just hold a key to switch between the two cards present on the phone.

The Nokia C3 is slightly different. It helps users to be up to date with their social networking accounts. Features such as SMS, MMS and IM can be all accessed by the touch of one button. Users can also access Yahoo mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail. The phone comes with 2.4-inch QVGA display with 320 x 240 pixel resolution. It features a 2-megapixel camera with a 4x digital zoom. There’s a 55MB internal memory and a slot for microSD card of up to 16 GB. The Nokia C3 will be released on the 18th of June at the price of £109 without a contract.

Good news for those who have been eagerly awaiting the Streak, also known as the Mini 5. Dell’s very own CEO claims that the device will now be launched by AT&T this summer.

Contrary to earlier reports that the Dell Streak can be Apple’s iPad competitor, it doesn’t seem so in this case. The Dell Streak itself looks like Sony’s PSP rather than the iPad. The Streak will use AT&T’s 3G network. It comes with a 5-megapixel camera on the back and on the front, there’s another camera. The device has a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. It works on Qualcomm Snapdragon 1-GHz processor which is alike the processor found in Google’s Nexus One.

Recently at the Citrix Synergy conference, Dell made the announcement that they plan to launch the device in Europe first under O2 Telefonica (partnership). In the United States, Dell says that it will be released late in the summer under AT&T.

Nokia has come a long way in the mobile phone’s market. Today they are the number one cell phone manufacturer for a reason. We would say that the reason is probably due to the fact that they have released an assortment of phones, which no other brands have done before. The Nokia device we have with us today is the Nokia 2600 Classic.

From the outside, the device has a standard and solid look with a 1.77 inches TFT display that features a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and supports up to 65k hues. On the same note, the display screen is as bright as it should be thus making it no problem to view anything on it properly. Pictures and video can be taken with this phone as it comes with a VGA camera. With this phone, users can sms, email and send multi-media messaging. The phone only comes with 10MB of internal memory and there are no other options for additional memory input.

The phone measures 109.6 mm x 46.7 mm x 12 mm and weighs 73.2grams. The Nokia 2600 Classic has been released in coral orange, gold, light blue and midnight blue. The Nokia 2600 Classic is available in stores now.

Remember some time back, we announced that Nokia might soon unveil their new X5 and C5 mobiles? Turns out the rumors were true as both the Nokia X5 and C5 have been unveiled in China. These two new TD-SCDMA phones will be released by China Mobile. Both Nokia phones support 3G and they will feature the jointly-run mobile application store, the Mobile Market-Ovi Store.

Now let’s talk more about the phones. Starting with the Nokia X5, the phone is a candy-bar shaped phone. It is powered by Symbian. There’s a 5-megapixel camera on the phone that comes with dual LED flash and video recording capabilities. Not forgetting the 2.4-inch display that features a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The Nokia X5 will be released in several colors such as black, red or white.

Meanwhile, the Nokia C5 is an entry-level phone. It comes with several similar features as the X5 such as the same 2.4-inch display and 5-megapixel camera. The Nokia C5 will be released in the colors silver or black.

Nokia has been releasing a lot of phones and why not? Since they are the number one manufacturer of cell phones. The Nokia C6 is basically a phone that can be used for messaging and social networks. It looks a bit like Nokia’s N97.

As mentioned above, the phone is a low-priced device that comes with really good features. It comes with a full keyboard for easy text entry. It has an 8-inch touch screen and works on Symbian S60, 5th version. It comes with a whole array of features for messaging and social networking. There’s Facebook which runs updated on the Home Screen of the phone. The phone features a 5-megapixel camera that comes with autofocus and flash.

Other features include FM radio, audio player and video. The phone is available with a 2GB MicroSD card (for storing data) and 200 MB of internal memory. By now, we all know about Nokia’s X-series phones, the Nokia X3 and the Nokia X6 which were both officially announced by the Finnish phone company. And now, we heard that the another model from the X series might just be arriving soon. Based on a report by NokiaPort which claims that the Indonesian version of FCC has approved of the Nokia X2 thus confirming the availability of this device.

Reports are suggesting that the phone will have quad-band GSM connectivity and Bluetooth. Other reports also suggest that the phone will most likely be a low-end handset which means that it will not be that expensive but will surely rise among the X series models. Since we don’t know more on its features, no word on when it will be released. In the meantime, Pestaola has come across a concept of what would be the Nokia X9. By the looks of it (in the picture), Nokia X9 seems to follow the steps of the X6. It will feature an AMOLED touchscreen display, a 12-megapixel camera with HD video recording, HDMI port, and Facebook and Twitter keys.

Basically what Nokia wants to achieve here is create a mobile phone whose battery will never run out. The concept would be to have the phone take in the energy created by a person when he moves around and this can be achieved through the use of piezoelectric crystals.

We’re sure this has happened to all of us. Just when you need to make an urgent call or check your email urgently, your battery suddenly dies and what’s worse, you’re in the middle of nowhere (not exactly but there’s no way to recharge your battery).

Now back to the phone, Nokia will develop this self-charging phone that will use the kinetic energy created when a person moves around. All this will help in ensuring the phone’s long lasting life. This kind of technology was made impossible in the past but now since it’s 2010, Nokia thinks this will work. We’ll just have to wait and see.
