Sprint has recently announced the Sanyo Vero, a phone for those with only the basic needs. The phone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display and 1.3-inch glow-thru OLED sub-display. It has a 1.3-megapixel camera. It has a battery that can last for 5.2 hours of talk time.

The Motorola DROID R2-D2 is similar to the DROID 2. In fact, it is considered the second generation of the DROID 2 with a special R2-D2 touch added to it. The phone comes with an updated 1.2 GHz processor if compared to its predecessor. It comes with the R2-D2 ringtone and sounds that will be used for notifications. There’s a clock widget featured on the phone. Also onboard are four live wallpapers and a bonus binoculars app. We’re not sure how these features will exactly excite the users, but let’s see. We forgot to mention that its users will receive a media dock when purchasing this device. The Motorola DROID R2-D2 will be released at the price of $350. Get ready for the big launch tomorrow.

The Nokia E7, which was unveiled at the Nokia World Show held recently, will apparently be released in January next year, according to sources. It was earlier reported that the Nokia plans to release the phone by the end of this year, but turns out Nokia is choosing to wait a little while more before launching the E7 in the market.

Nokia seems to be using the same N8 tactic with the online retailer eXpansy claiming that the exact launching date of the Nokia E7 would be on January 10th 2011. Bear in mind that these are merely rumors with no confirmation yet from Nokia.

Since the Nokia E7 was unveiled, all eyes have been on the device. More likely, all hands have been waiting to get on the new business phone. The phone features a nice 4-inch AMOLED tilting touchscreen. It comes with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, which of course makes the phone look bigger. Great news for all those who have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the first ever Windows Phone 7 operating system; the new release dates have been announced both for the US & UK. For folks over in the UK, Microsoft has decided to give you all a treat by launching the Windows Phone 7 there first before stepping out here in the US. So the release date over in United Kingdom will be on October 21st while for the United States, November 8th will be the lucky day.

Ever since the Windows Phone 7 OS has been reviewed earlier this year, this operating system has been one of the most anticipated systems till date. As a matter of fact, this is just what Microsoft needs to boost its sales when this OS releases. The question on everyone’s mind as a new leaked shot reportedly shows the upcoming HTC Lexikon, which might just be released by Verizon Wireless. The phone, as seen in the picture above, looks very attractive indeed. It works on Android OS version 2.2. Though not clear in the picture, experts claim the Lexikon is a slider phone. Some go even far claiming that the HTC Lexikon has similarities with upcoming HTC Desire Z and T-Mobile G2.

Seems like all the top officers of the leading mobile phone manufactures have been resigning. The latest to take this step is the CEO of LG Electronics. LG Electronics Chief Executive Officer Nam Yong has decided to take the blame for LG’s poor sales in smartphones and market share by resigning.

Whenever or not, this is a good decision on his part is yet to be seen, but putting their posts down are what top executives have been doing for the last two weeks. Meanwhile, LG has already picked another candidate who will replace Nam Yong. Koo Bon-Joon is all set to act and be the new CEO of LG Electronics.

According to reports, Nam Yong was under pressure to resign as LG Electronics’ sales dropped 0.7 percent compared to the sales acquired last year in 2009. Its profit has also dropped and recently, LG was one of the least sold smartphones for Q2 2010.

Good news for all those over in Canada looking for a new mobile phone; LG’s Rumour Plus is set to be launched by Bell soon. Apparently, this phone was supposed to be launched together with LG’s Rumour 2 back then in August. But, that didn’t materialize due to some manufacturing delays of the Rumour Plus.

The LG Rumour Plus has finally been released in Canada by Bell. Bell has stated prices would be $79.95 on a 2-year contract, $39.95 on a 3-year contract, $109.95 on a 1-year contract, and $159.95 without a contract.

Let’s talk more on the LG Rumour Plus. The phone itself is a nice looking LG device. It features a side-sliding full QWERTY keyboard. It comes with a 2.4-inch display screen that features a resolution of 240×320 pixels. There’s also a 2-megapixel camera. Other features include touch dialing, GPS, microSD card slot (cards up to 16 GB supported). The device weights only 119g. Bell already has the LG Rumour Plus on release.
