Initially LG was sort of quiet at MWC so much that we thought they didn’t show up. As it turned out, LG did have two surprises to unveil for us which are the Mini GD880 and the GT540 (Google-Android powered). Let’s jump right into the phones. The Mini GD880 is as mini-sized as a phone can get with nice sharp angles. It features a 3.2-inch display and since it’s mini the display is almost the phone itself, in other words, it’s the biggest thing on the phone. Then there’s the 5-megapixel, who can miss that. Other features include e-mail, integration with social networking services, a full Web browser with copy and paste, and LG’s Air Sync. Let’s hope it can live up to LG’s classy name in the market.
Next was the GT540 that is a Google Android (1.6) phone. It comes with a 3.2-inch touch screen and the phone itself is said to include all the Android features that there are. It also has a 3-megapixel camera (which are 2 steps down from the Mini GD880) and the phones comes with other features such as e-mail, a full Web browser, a unified e-mail manager, a media player, a motion sensor, and wireless syncing.
