The Motorola i680 is a cell phone that is designed for military purposes. It is also known as the Motorola BRUTE i680. The Motorola i680 sports a design of rubberized molding and a textured grip that helps it stay protected against the harshest forces.

Specifications
The Motorola i680 measures 2.09 inches x 3.92 inches x 1.02 inches (W x H x D) in dimension and weighs approximately 5.6 oz. It comes in the form of a clamshell flip phone and is available in black. The Motorola i680 is made out of a unique blend of rubber and metal that allows for a strong tough design suitable for army usage. Besides that, the Motorola i680 has a display screen that is located under the top cover. Its TFT display can support up to 65k colours and measures 2.2 inches diagonally with a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels. In addition to that, the Motorola i680 has an internal antenna. The Motorola i680 is compatible with iDEN military networks with a frequency of 800/ 900 MHz. It is also compatible with Nextel Direct Connect networks. There is also a built-in digital camera situated near the hinge on the outer face right above the external display. It is of 2.0 mega pixel resolution and has 4x digital zoom capabilities. Besides being able to capture still pictures, the digital camera is also capable of performing video capture. Other functions include flash, fixed focus and image editing tools. The Motorola i680 is also music enabled and includes a media player that can play formats including AAC, AMR, H.263, H.264, iMelody, MP3, WAV, WMA, AU, AAC+, WMV v9, MIDI and Real Audio. The Motorola i680 operates on a proprietary operating system. In addition to that, it also has internet and games features including web access, pre-loaded Java applications, and WAP 2.0 compatibility. The Motorola i680 is powered by a standard Li-ion battery with a capacity of 1750 mAh that can provide up to approximately 350 minutes of continuous usage time. Alternatively, it can last up to approximately 150 hours when left on standby. As for messaging features, the Motorola i680 has support for multimedia messaging (MMS) and text messaging (SMS) in IM style texting. In terms of connectivity, the Motorola i680 incorporates stereo Bluetooth technology v2.1 (that supports profiles A2DP, HSP, HFP, SDP, DUN, OBEX, PBAP, AVRCP, BPP, FTP and OPP), version 2. Besides that, it also has a preloaded Openwave 7.2 web browser. As for data access, the Motorola i680 utilizes USB 2.0 technology with a micro USB port. The Motorola i680 also has a 2.5 mm headset jack + EMU. Not only that, it also has aGPS (assisted) and Telenav (Sprint) GPS and location services compatibility. In addition to that, the Motorola i680 also has calling functions including speakerphone, talkgroup conference calling and Push to Talk options including Push to Send Contacts/ Images and selective dynamic group call (SDGC). Besides that, the Motorola i680 also has a phonebook that can store up to 600 entries on its phone memory. In addition to that, the Motorola i680 also allows for personalization via preloaded screen savers, preloaded themes and preloaded wallpapers. The Motorola i680 also allows for external memory expansion via a memory slot and can support up to 8 GB of memory on a microSD memory card. Besides that, it also has up to 180 MB of internal memory available to user for storage. In addition to that, it also comes with productivity features and software including calculator and alarm clock. The Motorola i680 is of a rugged construction that complies to Mil Spec standards and is Military Spec 810F certified for blowing rain, dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, low pressure, salt fog, humidity and solar radiation.
