
The Nokia N95 8GB is an all-in-one multimedia computer phone which incorporates a PDA, cell phone, GPS receiver, digital camera, video recorder and also digital audio player. It is designed with a unique 2-way slide for easy switching between telephone, entertainment section and web browsing. The N95 8GB comes with 5.0-megapixel camera featuring a Carl Zeiss optics, auto-focus and LED flash, along with a secondary QVGA camera. It is also a quad-band GSM phone and EDGE compatible where it is ready to run on either 3G or 2G networks. In addition, the 3G technology provides fast downloads of data, multitasking task and streaming multimedia. It also includes integrated Wi-Fi connectivity for accessing open networks in the office, at home or from a variety of wireless hotspots. The phone is powered by the S60 software operating on the Symbian OS, enabling users to personalize the N95 by choosing from compatible applications that can be downloaded which include games, navigation, entertainment, and productivity titles. The phone also provides users with 8 GB of internal memory for the convenience of storage capabilities and it is available in a black coloured finish.
The Nokia N95 8GB measures at 99mm in height, 53mm in width, 21mm in depth and 128 grams in weight. It has a 2.8-inch QVGA TFT type screen with ambient light detector that provides impressive 3D graphics with 240-by-320-pixel resolutions display of up to 16.7 million colours for the user to view. This N95 version comes with an 8 GB of built-in memory with 128 MB of RAM. It also works on quad-band GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) networks, UMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz), compatible with EDGE (Class 32, 296 kbps), supports wireless technology Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g, Universal Plug and Play or UPnP technology), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB connectivity with its v2.0 mini USB for connection to personal computer or data transfer and also has a built-in assisted GPRS system (Class 32, 107 / 64.2 kbps).
Besides that, the device is equipped with 5.0-megapixel (2592-by-1944-pixel resolutions) camera with viewfinder grid, an auto focus feature, LED type flash function, digital zoom of up to 20x (5.0-megapixel up to 6x), auto exposure (center weighted), Carl Zeiss optics and Tessar lens to ensure a clear and focused shot. The camera comes with focal length of 5.6 mm, Focus range of 10 cm to infinity, Macro focus distance of between 10 to 50 cm and shutter speed of 1/1000~1/4 seconds. In addition, it has a secondary QVGA front camera CIF sensor (352-by-288 pixels) for video call or video conferencing purposes. The Nokia N95 8GB also supports video recording for MPEG-4 VGA of up to 640-by-480 pixel resolutions at 30fps, digital video stabilization, video playback and video streaming which can be displayed and viewed in the large high colour display. Other video settings include white balance options (automatic, sunny, cloudy, incandescent, fluorescent), colour tones (normal, sepia, black & white, negative, vivid) and digital zoom of up to 10x (VGA up to 4x). The phone has a digital stereo microphone, flash mode which consists of on/off, automatic and red-eye reduction, plus it also supports direct connection to compatible TV via Nokia Video Connectivity Cable (CA-75U) or wireless LAN/UpnP. It also has photo and video online uploading options for uploading personal memories to personal web site or Blog. It also supports audio formats such as Mp3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, still image formats like JPEG or EXIF, while for video formats, it supports MPEG-4, H.264, H.263/3GPP or RealVideo (8, 9 or 10).

The N95 8GB uses a Symbian operating system 9.2 which has S60 release 3.1 installed, along with a CPU Dual ARM 11 332 MHz processor and its graphic is powered by 3D Graphics HW Accelerator. Other software installed or supported by the device include Nokia Lifeblog 2.0, Video and still image editors, Java MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1, Flash Lite 2.0, OMA DRM 2.0 and WMDRM (for music) and Nokia Nseries PC Suite. It also comes with Nokia WAP 2.0 Browser, supports xHTML and HTML, along with Nokia maps. The browser provides users with access to the internet at broadband speeds with the help from its 3G technology. Users can also view office format documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF) as the device supports document viewing capabilities. Other basic offerings include e-mail, text messaging (SMS), Instant messaging, Picture messaging (MMS), Predictive text input, Stereo FM radio (87.5-108MHz /76-90MHz) with visual radio, Internet calls(VoIP), Infrared option, voice dial/memo, voice recorder, Speaker independent name dialing (SIND), video ring tones, a speakerphone, standard 3.5 mm audio jack and PC synchronization. It also comes with Personal Information Management (PIM) features which include calendar, contacts, to-do list, and PIM printing. Its phone book provides advanced contacts database with support for multiple phone, an e-mail details per entry and it also supports thumbnail pictures and groups where users would be able to categorize the caller according to specified photo or groups. In addition, data transfer application also can be done for transferring of PIM information from other compatible Nokia devices. Other applications included in the N95 8GB are USB mass storage file manager to support drag and drop functionality, Settings Wizard for easy configuration of e-mail, push to talk and video sharing, plus WLAN wizard. The Nokia N95 8GB uses standard Lithium-Ion 1200mAH (BL-6F) battery. Its talk time is rated up to 3.5 hours for usage of WCDMA, up to 5 hours for usage of GSM, while the stand by time is up to 11.5 days for both usage of WCDMA and GSM.
