The Samsung SGH-A237 is an entry-level clamshell mobile phone with all the basic features to make calls, and handle messaging and emails. It incorporates Bluetooth Wireless technology that allows you to connect to other Bluetooth-enabled accessories such as headsets, handsfree car systems and compatible printers. Not only that, it also incorporates EDGE/ GSM Quad-Band Support technology. There is also an integrated VGA-Quality digital camera that allows for multiple resolutions, a self-timer and a lot of instant memories. Besides that, the Samsung SGH-A237 also comes with an Energy Star qualified adaptor.

The Samsung SGH-A237 measures 2.4 inches x 1.78 inches x 0.82 inches (H x W x D) in dimension, weighing approximately 2.9 ounces. In terms of its display, it has a colour external display that can support up to 65k colours with a resolution of 96 x 96 pixels. Besides that, it also has an LCD colour TFT/ TFD display that measures 2 inches diagonally with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and can support up to 65,536 colours (16 bit). The Samsung SGH-A237 runs on a Li-Ion 800 mAh battery that provides up to 5.0 hours of talk time or up to 250 hours of standby time. In terms of entertainment, the Samsung SGH-A237 includes features such as Embedded JAVA Games, JAVA Download and Embedded wallpaper. Besides that, the Samsung SGH-A237 also has voice memo and voice mail functions. It can also perform messaging functions including SMS, EMS, MMS, with additional features such as predictive text input via T9 dictionary, email, vCard/ vCalendar and instant messaging. The Samsung SGH-A237’s phonebook can store up to 500 phone book entries. There is also a personal information management (PIM) function under organiser that includes calendar, to do list, clock, world time, alarm, currency converter, converter, calculator, stop watch and count down timer. The Samsung SGH-A237 also has a speakerphone option as well as the ability to display the call cost/ call time as well as dialled/ missed/ received calls. Its antenna is also built-in and thus hidden. The Samsung SGH-A237 runs on a proprietary platform. It has an internal phone memory capacity of 3.4 MB, depending on phone pre-configuration.

“At first, as I see, the main drawback of New AT&T Cell phones-AT&T Samsung SGH-A237 has disappointing voice quality, and its external display can’t serve as a viewfinder for self-portraits.
Of course, here is a good thing, the Samsung SGH-A237 has a simple, easy-to-use design and a decent low-end feature set that includes Bluetooth and voice dialling. The main selling points will be a camera & Bluetooth capabilities. It will be available in at least two colour variants: with blue or red upper front cover and a black back cover.
