The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 is built on Sony Ericsson’s entertainment heritage and combining rich graphics with intelligence capabilities. The Xperia X10 was previously known as Xperia X3 and recently, the Sony Ericsson Rachel. It was only when it was properly announced that the official name was given.  The XPERIA™ X10 supports GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS HSPA 900/1700/2100 and UMTS HSPA 800/850/1900/2100. The XPERIA™ X10   introduces a new UX platform on top of the Open OS and creates a Sony Ericsson user experience that combines entertainment features with signature applications. It also integrates social media services and a graphical user interface that humanizes the way users interact with their phones. It will be available in selected markets from Q1 in the colours, Sensuous Black and Luster White.

It measures 119 x 63 x 13 mm and weighs 135g.

Display
The display features a TFT capacitive touchscreen with 65K colors. It features a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels and measures 4 inches. It has a scratch-resistant surface with an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate, It also features both Timescape/Mediascape UI.

Power
It comes with a Li-Po 1500 mAh (BST-41) standard battery.

Camera
The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has an 8MP camera that features a resolution of 3264×2448 pixels, autofocus and LED flash. Camera features are also touch focus, image stabilization, geo-tagging, face and smile detection. The camera can be used to shoot videos with features being WVGA@30fps. There’s a secondary camera that can used to either take shots of users or for videocall.

Networks
This SE phone supports 2G network such as GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G network such as HSDPA 900/1900/2100.

Connections
The Xperia X10 also comes with network features such as GPRS (Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 – 48 kbps), EDGE (Class 10, 236.8 kbps), 3G (HSDPA, 10.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 2 Mbps), WLAN (Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, DLNA), Bluetooth (v2.1 with A2DP) and a USB port (v2.0 miniUSB). There’s a 1GB internal memory with 256MB RAM. There’s a card slot featured on the phone that supports microSD card of up to 16GB. It is said that a 8GB is included.

Release Date
It was finally announced in November 2009 after much heat surrounding this product and would release hopefully in early 2010.

Media
The mobile phone also introduces the Hi-Fi Wireless Headset with FM radio that features advanced Bluetooth™ technology that lets users stream music to the headset in high fidelity through sound-enhancing ear-buds. There’s the speakerphone feature on the phone with stereo speakers.

Phone Features
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 includes applications like Mediascape and Timescape™, and lets consumers organise everything in their phone in an intuitive way. It features Sony Ericsson Timescape™ that manages all communication with one person in one place.  Users can browse through conversations the bright way to check out Facebook™, Twitter™, photos, emails, and texts all in one go; Mediascape that lets users navigate their way through music, photos and videos from favourite friends and artists; allows access to content from everywhere – from the phone, YouTube™, PlayNow™ and more; as well as intelligence capabilities, integrated into Mediascape and Timescape™, that automatically recognise connections between contacts, content and media. Alert types on this phone come in the form of vibration, downloadable polyphonic tones, MP3 ringtones and your very own composed tones in the phone. It has a phonebook that allows unlimited number of entries and fields and it also features photocall. Call records as well are unlimited in terms of the numbers that you have called and the numbers that you have received as well as missed calls.

Other Features
It also features intelligent face recognition that recognizes up to five faces in any picture, automatically connecting them with a social phonebook and all other related communications with that person. Users can download any application that they want direct from a wide variety of stores including PlayNow™ and the Android Market™ on the phone.
